The Masonic calendar keeps on moving and as September marches on, our attention, under normal circumstances, turns to Installations. However, life is still not quite normal and choices have to be made, Brother Rev. Craig this month asks us to think deeply and hopefully reach a satisfactory conclusion whichever course of action we take. Brethren, I look forward immensely to being in your company once again, sooner rather than later.

Brother Andrew Mushet,
Provincial Grand Master of Glasgow

Greetings Brethren,

It’s a time of reflection again I think.  We are all no doubt excited about the changes that are afoot in society and how they will impact on our craft as the world opens for business once more.  If your life has been like mine in the last few months many old things haven’t just been suspended; in many instances they’ve been replaced with new things.  The long and the short of it is that we now have choices to make.  Maybe you’ve started some good works that you now feel is really important.  Maybe you’ve reconnected with you wife after years of masonic absence many nights of the week.  Maybe you’ve taken on additional family responsibilities that you’ll now find difficult to get away from.  For years Freemasonry has been a big part of our lives but it may not be that easy to just reset the clock at 2019.  That’s what we need to think about here.  The path to masonic light is a whole lot more than showing up at the lodge meeting.  This path to light is about growing within ourselves and through that growth making our world a better place to live in.  It’s this we need to reflect on – should we just disregard the new stuff and pick up the old again or should we try to find a better way that incorporates it all?  Family, craft, service and community.  I know that you’ll all reach the right decision, all I’m trying to do is plant a seed in your hearts; you water it and see how it grows.

Fraternal Blessings,
Brother Rev. Robert Craig,
