On Saturday 23rd November 2019 Substitute Provincial Grand Master, Brother Michael Macdonald, attended at the Installation of the Master and Office Bearers of the Bridgeton and Glasgow, Shamrock and Thistle Lodge No. 275.

He was accompanied by a Deputation from Provincial Grand Lodge which consisted of Brother David Black, Provincial Grand Vice President of Stewards and Brother James Todd, a member of the Board of Stewards. 

Brother Iain T. Gordon was installed into the Chair of King Solomon as Master of The Bridgeton & Glasgow Shamrock & Thistle Lodge No. 275 and the Installing Masters were Brother Robert Shaw PM and Brother James D. McGeachin PM.

The Ceremony took place within the Masonic Temple in Shieldhall Road, Glasgow with a large number of Brethren in attendance.

The Brethren paid a fitting and poignant tribute with a Toast to ‘Fallen Brethren’ and had a symbolic vacant table with Masonic Regalia on display and the Flight Book & Medals belonging to the Master's father, Thomas Gordon, who served in RAF Bomber Command for the duration of World War II. This was led by Past Master, Brother Alan W. Frame with the ’Flowers of the Forest’ played by Piper, Brother Allan W. Hamilton.

Brother Gordon, said:  "I am humbled and deeply honoured to be Master of this old Lodge which just last year celebrated its Bicentennial. I will do my upmost to ensure the Lodge goes from strength to strength. It is a Lodge with a fascinating history boasting a number of very prominent Past Masters including a former Prime Minister, Brother Andrew Bonar Law. I would like to thank the Brethren for their support in electing me as Master."

In keeping with the traditions of the Lodge, the Brethren sat down to a hearty meal and enjoyed outstanding entertainment from a number of talented Brethren during the Harmony.

The Provincial Grand Lodge of Glasgow extend congratulations to Brother Gordon and wish him, and his Office Bearers, well for the year ahead.
