Partick St.Marys Lodge, No.117, 250th Rededication Ceremony
On Saturday 30th March 2019 Partick Saint Mary's Lodge No. 117, held their 250th Anniverary Celebrations within Partick Burgh Halls. On this auspicious occasion, the event proved to be a most memorable and monumental day in the history of the Lodge.
The Grand Lodge of Scotland, headed by the Grand Master Mason, Brother William Ramsay McGhee, accompanied by a very large and distinguished deputation from the Grand Lodge of Scotland. performed an impressive, dignified and unforgettable Rededication Ceremony to the delight of over 200 assembled Brethren.
The Provincial Grand Lodge of Glasgow was also in attendance, with a large and distinguished deputation headed by the Provincial Grand Master Brother, Brother James C. Peddie.
After the Ceremony of Rededication an excellent banquet was enjoyed by the majority of the Brethren who remained to listen to the informative, encouraging and entertaining speeches, delivered by the Grand Master Mason and those on the toast list. This included an unusual and entertaining toast to the Lodge by the Depute Provincial Grand Master of Glasgow, Brother Andrew Mushet.
Also in attendance were Brethren from England, Wales, Canada, New Zealand and various parts of Scotland. Several of these Brethren returned to their Mother Lodge to witness this special day in it's history.
The Lodge also received several gifts to mark this occasion, including new Wardens Columns from New Monkland Montrose Lodge No. 88 and a beautifully crafted slate plaque from Lodge Govandale at Govan No. 437 who were sponsored by Partick Saint Mary's Lodge No. 117.
It was indeed a thoroughly memorable and enjoyable day by all who were in attendance, with the Master, Brother Alan Cuthill, expressing his sincere thanks to everyone in attendance for their support and his delight that everyone present had shared this day with the Brethren of Partick Saint Mary's Lodge.
At the conclusion of the days events, everyone expressed their approval at being present to witness this special day.
