On Thursday 29 November 2018 the Provincial Grand Master, Brother James C. Peddie, was in attendance at the Grand Lodge of Scotland in Freemasons' Hall, George Street, Edinburgh, to witness the Installation of the new Grand Master Mason, Brother William Ramsay McGhee, MStJ, D.L.
The Province was well represented by Brethren travelling through for the occasion and after the Installation they attended at the Corn Exchange, Edinburgh where the Festival of Saint Andrew was held. Of particular note at the Festival was the Grand Master Mason presenting a cheque for £18,000 to Mr Adam Gains of Prostate Scotland. This brings the total raised for this worthy cause by Scottish Freemasons to £450,000.
The Provincial Grand Master managed to catch up with some of the Glasgow Brethren at the Festival, including a table from Partick St. Mary's Lodge No. 117 who were in attendance with their Master, Brother Graeme Cameron.
There was also a large contingent from Lodge Scotia, No. 178 who were there to enjoy the festivities and to support their Master, Brother Christopher Henderson, who was on the Toast List. Brother Henderson had the honour of replying to the Toast to the Daughter Lodges which was proposed by Brother John F. Herrick, Substitute Grand Master.
Brother Henderson gave a fine reply to the Toast and his words were warmly received by all in attendance. He is pictured above with the Grand Master Mason and the Provincial Grand Master.
The Province was also well represented by some of our Brethren who hold Grand Lodge Offices.
On the left is Brother Alistair Henderson, Grand Sword Bearer and on the right Brother Andrew Mushet who is now Grand Architect. Brother Henderson is the Immediate Past Provincial Grand Master and Brother Mushet is the Depute Provincial Grand Master.
Our congratulations and best wishes are extended to both of them.
Not to be outdone, one of the Province's Social Media Team managed to get in on the act as well!
Brother Alan Duthie, who is a Past Master of Lodge Scotia No. 178 and a Member of the Provincial Grand Lodge Board of Stewards, managed to get a quick picture with the newly installed Grand Master Mason at the Festival.
The Provincial Grand Lodge of Glasgow extend our heartiest congratulations to Brother William Ramsay McGhee, Grand Master Mason, and wish him every success during his time in office.
