On Saturday 7th May 2022, the Provincial Grand Master, Brother Andrew Mushet, attended the V.E. Commemoration at the Veteran's Memorial, Knightswood, Glasgow.

He was accompanied by Brother Alan Cuthill, Depute Provincial Grand Master, Brother David Quinn, Provincial Grand Secretary, Brother Stephen Urie, Immediate Past Senior Provincial Grand Warden and Brother Malcolm Balfour, a member of the Board of Stewards.

A short service was led by the Reverend Phil Paterson of the Scottish Veteran's Chaplaincy Service and at the conclusion of this, the Provincial Grand Master laid a wreath on behalf of the Freemasons of Glasgow.

The Provincial Grand Master then unveiled the new Victory Pathway at the rear of the Memorial which was funded by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Glasgow. He addressed the assembled guests as follows:

"Deacon Convenor, Immediate Past Lord Dean of Guild, Sir Andrew Gregory, Controller SSAFA, representatives of various organisations, Ladies and Gentlemen.

On behalf of the Freemasons of Glasgow here at the Knightswood Veteran's Memorial, in commemoriation of all of those brave servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may have a better tomorrow. It gives me the greatest of pleasure to unveil the V for Victory Pathway which we trust will enhance the Memorial"

After the event at the Memorial, there was a march past and then a short parade before refreshments were served in a nearby public house.

VE Group

The event was organised by the Glasgow and West of Scotland Branch of the Parachute Regimental Association.

VE Standard

On Sunday 8th May 2022 the Provincial Grand Master attended at Glasgow Central Railway Station where he laid a wreath on behalf of the Freemasons of Glasgow at a short ceremony at the War Memorial.
