On Thursday 14 March 2019, Substitute Provincial Grand Master, Brother Gavin Stewart, attended with a Deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Glasgow at Lodge Galen, No. 1285. On this occasion the Substitute Provincial Grand Master was there to carry out the Annual Visitation to the Lodge which he did, giving a very favourable report on the Immediate Past Master, Brother James Guy, and his year as Master of the Lodge.
Brother Stewart then presented a Jubilee Certificate to Brother Frederick G. Quinn, a Past Master of Lodge Galen, to mark his 50 years as a Member of the Scottish Constitution.
Brother Stewart gave a summary of Brother Quinn's time in the Craft and spoke about his work for Lodge Galen, where he is currently Lodge Treasurer, and also the Provincial Grand Lodge of Glasgow, where he is currently Provincial Grand Almoner and also a member of the Provincial Board of Examiners. He praised Brother Quinn for his sterling service to the Craft and congratulated him on achieving this milestone as a member of our Order.
The Master of Lodge Galen, Brother Robert McLean, presented Brother Quinn with a Jewel to mark his 50 years service which was a gift from the Lodge.
These Jewels are available from the Grand Lodge of Scotland at https://www.grandlodgescotland.com/product/50-year-jubilee-jewel/ should any Lodges have members approaching 50 years of service.
Brother Quinn thanked the Substitute Provincial Grand Master for his kind words and spoke to the assembled Brethren regarding the enjoyment he has had throughout his time as a Freemason.
The Deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Glasgow then retired before returning to enjoy some harmony with the Brethren of Lodge Galen. The Substitute Provincial Grand Master was accompanied by:
